In a significant success for the security forces in their push for cleaning out Kashmir Valley's terror-infested Shopian district, they on Sunday (26 July) busted a military hideout and seized scores of arms and ammunition, reports Economic Times.
The hideout was located in an orchard in Dachoo area of Shopian district. The security forces have been able to garner incriminating materials from the location. The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police has already registered a case in the matter.
Weaponry and equipment seized by the security forces from the said hideout include two UBGL grenades, three grenades, one AK-47 magazine, 20 AK rounds and also a set of ICOM radio.
The move comes the very same day when Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar had announced that no resident of Srinagar is now serving at any rank of any terrorist organisation. This was achieved after last such terrorist, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander identified as Ishfaq Rashid Khan from Srinagar was gunned down by the forces in an encounter.
