A security guard deployed at the office of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) Dr Harsh Vardhan at AIIMS Delhi has tested positive for COVID-19, reports Hindustan Times.
The security guard was posted in the teaching block of AIIMS Delhi, and following his test turning out positive, sanitisation of thee tier wing is being carried out in full swing. Meanwhile, several staffers, including the OSD himself have been advised to self-quarantine themselves. Their samples are also likely to be taken for testing.
Also, at least six more staffers, including two from the records section, a laboratory attendant, and a personal assistant of a faculty at the Cardio-Neuro centre of AIIMS have also tested positive for COVID-19 recently.
Apart from this, a nurse working at New Delhi's Dr B R Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital had also tested positive for COVID-19. In a grim development, two of her children have also tested positive.
A massive contact tracing operation has been launched to reach out to all those who have recently come in touch with the aforementioned security guard and the nurse.
