Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked the central government to share the Covid-19 vaccine formula of the Serum Institute of India (SII) and Bharat Biotech with other manufacturers to ramp up production capacities in the country.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo believes that there is a shortage of vaccines across the country and hence there is a necessity to develop a national policy in order to inoculate the entire population in the coming few months.

Kejriwal has also asked centre to ensure that all vaccine manufacturing units in the country are utilised to produce Covid-19 vaccine doses, the New Indian Express reports.

Moreover, Kejriwal suggested that the SII and Bharat Biotech could be given royalty as other companies implement their formula to produce more vaccines.

Delhi carried out vaccination of around 1.39 lakh individuals on Monday, out of which 64,151 people belonged to the 18-44 age group.

However, AAP MLA Atishi has claimed said that the national capital’s stock of Covaxin for the people from the 18-44 age brackets is fast depleting. Delhi might hence close down its vaccination centres administering Covaxin to the aforementioned group of people if the stocks aren’t refilled soon.
