Bharatiya Janata Party’s Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari is leading in the North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency against the former three-time chief minister and senior Congress party leader Shiela Dixit by a massive margin of more than 17,000 votes.
The news gains major significance given the high-profile candidates fighting it out in the constituency.
Also, it should be noted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from the seat, Dilip Pandey seems to have failed to register significant votes as per the votes counted so far. Pandey is also the convener for the Delhi unit of the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
