As per reports, the BJP leaders namely Bhupendra Yadav and G V L Narsimha Rao were addressing the press conference and Rao began attacking the Congress for filing false cases against Hindu activists including Sadhvi Pragya.
After the shoe was hurled (and missed the BJP leader) Rao alleged a hand of Congress inspired supporter behind the act. The assaulter was then escorted out of the room by BJP workers who are then said to have detained him.
The accused has been identified as Kanpur based doctor Shakti Bhargava. The Income Tax department had incidentally raided his establishment over the purchase of three bungalows.
The press conference was called to discuss the candidature of former ABVP leader Sadhvi Pragya who has now joined the BJP and would contest against senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh in Bhopal.
Pragya is well known for being a victim of the ‘Hindu Terror’ narrative manufactured during the UPA era. The theory has been rubbished as fake by various individuals.
