Six people were killed after a Lexus SUV rammed into a crowd in Kharkiv, Ukraine on Wednesday (18 October). The incident occurred near the Chabad House in the city.
Along with those killed, a further six people were injured in the accident, which took place at Sumskaya Street in Ukraine’s second-largest city, reported Sputnik.
Police have claimed the incident was not a terrorist attack.
Quoting the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, Sputnik reported that the SUV was thrown on a pedestrian walk after collision with another car.
Anton Herashchenko, an adviser to the interior minister, said the Lexus collided at high speed with a Volkswagen after running a red light, and was flipped into the street, where dozens of people were walking.
The Lexus driver was arrested at the scene. ANI

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
