The Special Forces of the Indian Army has been engaged in counter-terrorist operation along the India-Myanmar border in the Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, reports ANI. One terrorist belonging to the National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Khaplang (NSCN-K) has been killed and one jawan has been injured in the operation. A radio set, an AK-56, hand grenade and other ammunition was recovered from the slain terrorist.
According to India Today, 21 special forces men are involved in the operation that began at 7.30 am today (4 September). Sources in the Indian Army also said that it was not a cross-border strike. Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Bipin Rawat met with Union Minister for State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and announced that it was a routine operation.

Earlier on Sunday (3 September), the Eastern Command of the Army reported the neutralisation of a self-styled NSCN-K terrorist Honcham Wangsa near Kunsa in Arunachal Pradesh.
