Speed Of Law In UP: Viral Video Shows Man Beating Rickshaw-Puller, UP Police Arrests Him In One Hour

Uttar Pradesh police received a round of applause on social media after it arrested the man threatening a poor rickshaw-puller with a gun within 1.5 hours of the posting of the video that was shared on social media.

The video shared showed a man fighting with a rickshaw-puller, and saying that he has given five rupees extra to the man for the ride. In the ensuing argument, the man accused the rickshaw-puller of abusing him, and starts abusing him. He further tries to beat-up the man, with some people who have gathered around trying to stop him. He also pulls out his gun and chases the rickshaw-puller. Twitterati expressed great concern over the video and several tagged UP Police asking for arrest.

The post caught attention of DIG Range Azamgarh, whose official account tagged Mau police and urged to take action. Soon after, Mau police tweeted that the accused had been arrested with the weapon, and FIR has been registered under the relevant sections of the IPC.

Twitterati praised the swift action of the UP Police and said that it restored the faith of common people in the justice system.
