Chief Minister MK Stalin has written a letter to Governor RN Ravi stating that the decision to dismiss Senthil Balaji as a minister (which was later put on hold) is unconstitutional as he does not have the power to dismiss a minister.
At a press conference earlier today in Chennai, Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu said that the Tamil Nadu government would disregard the Governor's communication.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Rajya Sabha member P Wilson said the letter was void ab initio.
Governor Ravi later said that he had decided to keep the matter in abeyance and consult the Attorney General as per the advice of the Union Home Minister.
