Tamil Nadu Reports 86 More Cases Today; 85 Had Attended Nizamuddin Tablighi Jamaat Congregation

Tamil Nadu reported 86 more Coronavirus (Covid-19) positive cases today (5 April), taking the total number of those affected by the pandemic virus in the State to 571.
Two more people - a 60-year-old Chennai resident and a 71-year-old person from Ramanathapuram district - died today taking the toll due to Covid-19 to five.
Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh said of the 86 Covid-19 cases reported today, 85 were traced to the Aalami Markaz Nizamuddin congregation of the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi last month.
Of the total 561 cases in Tamil Nadu, 522 got infected with the pandemic virus after attending the Nizamuddin congregation in Delhi.
While eight persons have recovered in the State, results of 339 samples are awaited, Rajesh said.
Over 90,000 person are under home quarantine conditions in the State, while about 10,000 have completed their mandatory quarantine period.
Tamil Nadu is one of the worst affected by Coronavirus positive cases traced to the Delhi Aalami Markaz Nizamudding event. The State government said that it has so far screened 1,246 of those who attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation.
Since the tests of those who tested positive after returning from Delhi began rising. Tamil Nadu's Covid-19 cases in the five before today have been 57, 110, 75,102, and 74.
