Tamil Nadu: Tirunelveli Gets Atos Syntel’s New Global Delivery Centre, Giving Jobs A BoostAtos Logo (Vektordaten/Wikimedia Commons)

Atos Syntel, the software tech giant headquartered in Bezons, France has announced the opening of its new global delivery centre out of Tirunelveli, TN. The first building on the campus which is being set up on 100 acre property will house 2300 employees, reports The Hindu BusinessLine.

According to the report, the move will help the company to harness the local talent pool and will provide opportunities to solve complex business problems using technology.

Tirunelveli region has a large number of engineering institutions in it and has established itself as a hub for high-tech education in South India. Every year a large number of engineers graduate from the region making it an optimal location for setting up the campus.

Sean Narayanan, SEVP and Head of Business and Platform Solutions and member of the Atos Group General Management Committee, was quoted in the report as saying, “We would like to utilise the current facility capacity and bring additional capacity in the 24 to 36 months. So far, we have made investments of approximately Euro 15 million in building the Tirunelveli GDC, at full capacity. Based on the current plan we are expecting to further invest about Euro 5-10M over the next five years, depending on our business requirements,”

The company has software development centres in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and Pune in India. It currently employs more than 32,500 employees across these offshore centres.
