Telangana: India’s First Private Sector Unit For UAVs Manufacturing Comes Up In Adani Aerospace Park, Hyderabad

The first private sector unit for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in India opened at the Adani Aerospace Park in Hyderabad on Friday (14 December), reports The Hans India.

The unit has been built by the Adani Group in collaboration with Israel’s ELBIT systems, and spans 50,000 square feet. It will develop Hermes 900 medium altitude long-endurance UAVs for global and Indian markets. The unit will start with manufacturing of complete carbon composite aerostructures for Hermes 900 and Hermes 480 to cater to global markets. It would be further ramped up for the assembly and integration of the complete UAVs.

The plant which has been built at the Adani Aerospace Park is the first defence and aerospace complex of Adani Group, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The facility also focuses on housing advanced composites and high precision mining capabilities. The plant was inaugurated by the Home Minister of Telangana, Mohammad Mahmood Ali, in the presence of Karan Adani, CEO, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones, Ezhalel Machlis, President and Chief Executive Officer, Elbit Systems, Ashish Rajvanshi, Head Adani Defence and Aerospace and Pranav Adani, Director, Adani Enterprise Ltd.
