The Hyderabad Metro has celebrated its first anniversary, with its Managing Director K V B Reddy unveiling its first-anniversary logo to commemorate the occasion, The Hindu Business Line has reported.
Inaugurated for public operations by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 November 2017, the Hyderabad Metro has charted over 3.2 crore passengers in the past one year.
The project has completed its Corridor I of 29 km (Red Line), from Miyapur to LB Nagar covering 27 stations and Corridor 3 of 17 km (Blue Line) Nagole to Ameerpet covering 14 stations. The line connecting the IT hub of Hitec City is almost at a completion stage.
Reddy said, “Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is a unique example of a successful PPP model in public transport in India. It has made a significant impact on the commuting behaviour of the people in Hyderabad.”
The Hyderabad Metro has also introduced last-mile connectivity options like rent-a-bike services and electric vehicles along with the regular cab aggregator services and bus services at metro stations.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
