Two weeks before her death in a private hospital in Haryana, possibly through Coronavirus, the victim of the alleged Tikri gangrape case recorded a video describing the sexual assaults on her.
In the video, the 25-year-old said that she chose not to share the sexual assault on her to anyone as she did not want to harm the farmers’ protest, says a report by a news website.
The woman belonged to West Bengal.
As per a complaint by her father, based on which a first information report (FIR) was filed on 9 May, she came to the protest site at Tikri in mid-April, but died under mysterious circumstances on 30 April in a private hospital.
Tikri is on the border of New Delhi and Haryana. The FIR has been filed in Haryana‘s Jhajjar district at City Bahadurgarh police station (number 0203/2021).
The complaint says that a day before her death, she confided to her father that she had been sexually attacked and raped by two fellow protesters - Anil Malik and Anup Singh.
The complaint says that on 16 April, the woman revealed details of the sexual assault on her to two persons at the site - Jagdish Brar and Yogita Suhag. Yogita recorded a video of her statement in Jagdish’s presence.
Swarajya has not accessed the video statement yet, but the complaint says that a copy of the video stored in a pendrive has been given to the police. It also says that after the video was recorded, the woman sent the video to her father through Whatsapp.
As per the website, it is in this video that the woman reportedly said that she hid the sexual assault to save the movement.

It’s a revelation that raises questions on the extent of ideological brain-washing of youths, especially women. It’s pertinent to mention here that the woman took the decision to join the protest at Tikri after attending a meeting of anti-farm bill activists in West Bengal.
The prime aim of the meeting was to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state, as per a statement by Samyukt Kisan Morcha leader Yogendra Yadav.
Yadav has also been questioned by the police in the case.
