To eliminate traffic snarls, 31 December has been set as the deadline by Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) for removing all barricades on roads on North-South corridor from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Munshipulia, where metro construction is in process.
There has been regular disruption while travelling in Lucknow due to the Metro construction work, and people are complaining about the delay they have on roads due to the barricades.
“Every day I have to travel from Badshahnagar to Indiranagar for tuition classes. The barricades cover a lot of area on the road and are the main reason for traffic jams on the stretch,” quoted a regular commuter as per reports by Metro Rail News.
The construction between Munshipulia to Badshahnagar is still in progress, and the Public relation officer of LMRC Abhishek Mishra has said that they aim to complete the civic construction from the Airport to Munshipulia by 31 December.
He said that following the construction of the phase-1 of the project, they will start the tendering process for the next phase, which will span from Charbagh to Vasantkunj.
