Before he met a Kremlin-linked Russian lawyer who he thought had damaging material on Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was told in an email that the arrangement was a part of a Russian government’s bid to aid his father's presidential campaign, the New York Times has reported.
According to the daily, that has come up with multiple reports on Russia’s alleged interference in 2016 presidential election, the email was sent to Donald Trump’s eldest son by Rob Goldstone, a publicist and former British tabloid reporter who helped broker his June 2016 meeting with the Russian national.
The meeting was attended by Trump's campaign chairman, Paul J Manafort and his son-in-law Jared Kushner. However, it is still unclear whether Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, actually provided the promised compromising information about Clinton or not. This was the first confirmed private meeting between Trump's team and person linked with Russia during the election campaign.

The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
