Twitter Celebrates Independence Day with Ashoka Chakra Emoji, Available In Several Languages

Joining the 73rd Independence Day celebrations, Twitter on launched a special emoji of the Ashoka Chakra, reports The Tribune.
The emoji will be live until Sunday and is available in English and other vernacular languages such as Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali and Oriya.
"Over the years, Twitter emojis have established themselves as a medium of expression for our users. This inspires us to curate exclusive symbols around moments that are important to Indians," said Shagufta Kamran, Senior Manager Public Policy at Twitter India.
Netizens across the globe can engage in live Independence Day conversations under the #IndiaIndependenceDay and #IDayIndia tags.
Ashoka Chakra is among the most venerated symbols of the nation. With the depiction of Dharma Chakra and continuous progress, it forms the centre of the national flag. Ashoka Chakra also happens to be the highest peacetime military decoration awarded for exceptional valour and self-sacrifice away from the battlefield.
Twitter had come up emojis of Red Fort and the Tricolour among other nationals symbols as its emojis during the previous years.
