Two Drones Were Used For Carrying Out Explosions Inside Jammu Airport’s Technical Area: Report

Two drones were used to carry out the attack inside the Air Force base in Jammu on Sunday, reported ANI citing sources.

“Two low-intensity explosions were reported early Sunday morning in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station. One caused minor damage to the roof of a building while the other exploded in an open area. There was no damage to any equipment,” informed Indian Air Force via their Twitter handle.

As a result of the explosions, one person was injured after being likely hit by a splinter. It is being said that the explosions were so powerful that it was heard till a distance of around a kilometre from the site.

It should be noted that following the explosions, the Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) Police has arrested a suspected militant from near a shopping mall in the jurisdiction of Trikuta Nagar Police station with possession of an IED.

As per information shared by the Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh, the IED weighed nearly 5 kilograms. It is also being said that the J&K Police also apprehended an over-ground worker along with the said militant.

The Jammu administration has also sounded an alert across the Jammu division over the said incident.
