Two Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Planes Collide Mid Air During Aero India Rehearsal; One Pilot Dead

Two Surya Kiran acrobatic planes of the Indian Air Force collided mid air on Tuesday (19 February) while rehearsing for the upcoming Aero India performances scheduled from 20 to 24 February, Times of India has reported.
The collision happened at about 11.50 am in the morning.
Three pilots were involved in the collision out of which one unfortunately succumbed to injuries, India Today has reported. Two pilots have managed to eject safely, claimed the report.
A civilian present on the ground is also said to have been hurt in the crash, with the debris falling near ISRO layout at Yehalanka’s new town area in Bengaluru.
The aerobatic team’s practice has safely concluded on Monday (18 February) with all parameters being gauged as normal. The aircraft were practising for the event’s inauguration tomorrow (20 February).
The Surya Kiran aerobatic team is known for its daredevil stunts and are one of the star attractions at Aero India.
