The Congress-led UDF currently has a clear lead in a majority of seats in Kerala.

In Thiruvananthapuram constituency, Shashi Tharoor has regained the lead after initially trailing the BJP’s Kummanam Rajashekharan. However, Tharoor and Rajasekharan are neck and neck in Thiruvananthapuram.

Rahul Gandhi has already established a significant lead of over one and a half lakh votes in Wayanad.

In Pathanamthitta, where the Sabarimala issue is expected to play a role, current Congress MP Anto Antony is leading by 20,000 votes.

Interestingly, the ruling LDF is facing a massive setback in all 20 seats. Its insistence on implementing the Supreme Court’s Sabarimala verdict and poor rehabilitation works after the floods in August last year are reported to have contributed to the downfall of Communists in Kerala.
