In a positive development, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has lauded the centre's ambitious aspirational districts plan and has found it to be immensely successful in propelling the development and in spurring growth over the last three years compared to any time in the past, reports Times of India.
As per the appraisal undertaken by UNDP, Ranchi, Chandauli, Simdega, Sonbhadra, and Rajgarh have emerged as the top five districts with maximum change in net resilience since 2018.
UNDP's report has recommended, "Given the positive impact of the programme, it is necessary to ensure the focus on development is encouraged further and momentum gained is maintained. Based on the findings of the evaluation, it is recommended that the success of the programme be scaled up and replicated for other sectors and districts."
The report also said that a remarkable feature of the programme is the commitment shown by the top-most political leadership of the country to bring about rapid progress in the under-developed pockets of India.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
