Once commissioned the project is expected to improve the traffic arrangement of the city, ensuring smoother commute experience for the people of the city.

The State also already has operational and expanding stretches of metro rail in cities like Lucknow, Noida and Ghaziabad, with new metro rail systems under construction in Agra and Kanpur. In 2020-21 budget of the State, the Government had provided for Rs 286 crore for Agra Metro, and Rs 358 crore for Kanpur Metro.
