UP: Sadhu Hacked To Death Inside Temple In Mau, Agra; Police Recovers Axe Suspected To Be The Murder Weapon

A sadhu has been murdered in Mau village in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, reports ANI. Sadhu Shiv Giri prayed and stayed in a Hanuman temple in the jungles at the bank of river Yamuna in the New Agra area.
Reportedly, his dead body was found inside the temple by the people today morning, who then informed the police. He was hacked to death by a sharp object.
Rohan Pramod Botre, Additional SP (City), Agra said that the body has been sent for the post mortem, the reason behind the murder is not known yet.
He also said that an axe has been recovered by the police which suspect it to be the murder weapon.
The police said that the incident doesn’t seem to one of robbery, and it is possible that somebody known to the sadhu committed the murder. A surveillance team is reportedly investigating into the mobile phone of the sadhu to recover relevant information.
