In a move set to benefit aspirants of civil services in the state, Odisha government has partnered with Dhyeya Educational Services Private Limited to offer coaching at subsidised rates, reports Times of India.

As the success rate of students from Odisha is not very high in the civil services examination, the scheme is meant to boost the number of selections from the state, an official told TOI.

The total fee of the course is pegged at Rs 70,000. "As part of the initiative, the state government will offer 75 per cent fee waiver to students selected under the scheme. Those with family income below 2 lakh will get a complete fee waiver,” said higher education secretary Bishnupada Sethi.

The government will conduct a competitive exam to select students at graduation level for the scheme. Minimum 100 students will be selected each year.

Previously, Manipur government under N Biren Singh launched a similar scheme to provide the much-needed support to those deserving and meritorious students.
