The Uttarakhand Government has built two gardens in State's Haldwani district as a tribute to valiant martyrs who sacrificed their lives defending the motherland at the Galwan Valley in Ladakh and Pulwama in Kashmir Valley, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The gardens have been developed by Forest Research Centre of Haldwani in the remembrance of martyrs. The two gardens have been named, "Galwan Shaheed Vatika" and "Pulwama Shaheed Vatika."
It should be noted that the at the Galwan Shaheed Vatika, 20 varied kinds of fruits and flowers have been planted in the name of the martyred soldiers from the 16 Bihar Regiment of the Indian Army, which included the commanding officer Colonel B Santosh Babu as well, who led his men from the front.
The valiant soldiers had bravely defended Indian sovereignty at Galwan Valley against the expansionist and belligerent misadventures of the Chinese Pople's Liberation Army (PLA) which till this day is known to be dodging any mention of its martyred soldiers from the violent clash which had erupted out of its attempts to usurp Indian territory by use of force.
