A video of the moments after a gunman shot dead the Russian ambassador to Turkey in Ankara has emerged. The video shows Turkish assassin, wearing a suit and tie, shout "Allahu akbar" and “don't forget Aleppo, don't forget Syria.”
Somewhat clear audio of the shooter talking after killing the Russian ambassador. Can anyone translate? pic.twitter.com/iXRzd1t2Fv

After firing at least eight shots, he continued in Arabic, saying: "We are the descendants of those who supported the Prophet Muhammad, for jihad."
The man then yelled: "Stand back. Stand back. Only death will take me out of here. Anyone who has a role in this oppression will die one by one."
According to Barın Kayaoğlu (@barinkayaoglu), the assassin was speaking in Turkish for the most part. He tweeted the translation.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
