During an interview with Puthiya Thalaimurai TV, O Panneerselvam has said that he was not allowed to meet former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa during her 75 days in Apollo Hospital even once.
“I must be a misfortunate sinner, may be that is why my fate didn’t permit me to see my leader in her last days,” CNN-News18 quoted him as saying.
He said he has failed to understand V K Sasikala’s ‘rush’ to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Responding to Sasikala’s allegations, he said that he has no connections with the Bharatiya Janata Party or any other political outfit.

Panneerselvam refused to respond to criticism from within his own party. “I will not respond to my party men's criticism because they are stuck in a place where they are forced to behave in such a way, I have no ill will to them or what they say about me,” Panneerselvam told CNN-News18.
Late on Tuesday night, Panneerselvam had claimed that he was forced to resign and recommend Sasikala's name for the post of chief minister.
