An All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) corporator identified as Mohammed Murtaza has been caught on camera threatening and manhandling a police officer. The incident happened in the Madannapet area of Hyderabad.
A video of the incident went viral on Social Media.
In the video the corporator can be seen arguing with the cop and at one point threatened to report him to his superiors. When the cop tried to hide his badge from the camera the corporator forcibly removed his hand.
As per reports, the cops were attempting to get authorities of a mosque to close down the premises after being alerted about a crowd gathering to offer prayers.
As per Madannpet Station House Officer, the constable in question had said that only five people will be allowed inside the mosque at a given time. But ten people were instead found to be inside the Mosque premises after which the constable objected and subsequently drew the ire of the AIMIM corporator Murtaza.
A case has now been filed against Murtaza.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
