Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is carrying out snow clearance operations in Eastern Ladakh amid freezing temperatures.
In a video tweeted by ANI, a bulldozer can be seen clearing the piled up snow on the road.
Clearing of snow is vital to keep strategic roads and passes open, particularly in Eastern Ladakh located close to the Line of Actual Control.
BRO was founded in 1960 to secure the borders by developing infrastructure in those regions. BRO operates in 19 states and three Union Territories including the islands of Andaman and Nicobar. It also has a presence in India’s friendly neighbours like Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
