As part of a political rally called the ‘Peoples’ Freedom March ’, hundreds of supporters of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) have started to march from Bhimber in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) towards the Line of Control (LoC) in what their leaders claim is a bid to cross over to Srinagar in the Kashmir Valley.

A short clip of the rally can be viewed below:

The point at which the JKLF seeks to try and breach the LoC is the Chakothi village, which is located just 20 kilometres from Uri on the Indian side which was the site of an infamous terrorist attack on an Indian Army camp.

Although JKLF claims that the rally marching towards the LoC is peaceful, it cannot be discounted that there may be elements of armed cells among the participants.
