The Suryakiran ( ‘Rays of the Sun’ ) aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force has displayed great aerobatics over the years but its only recently that they started to enthral their audience on Twitter.
Over the course of the past month they have posted various pictures and videos of their performances, few of which were even retweeted by the official handle of the Indian Air Force.

In the above videos taken from one of the cockpits, a plane can be seen flying inverted.
The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) was formed in 1996 to serve as "Ambassadors of the Indian Air Force" and to "showcase the professionalism, the calibre and the mettle of the Indian Air Force". The motto of Suryakiran team is ‘always the best’.
The squadron was previously composed of the HAL HJT-16 Kiran Mk.2 military trainer aircraft and are based at the Bidar Air Force Station in Karnataka. The team was suspended in February 2011.
However, it has been reconvened in 2015 with Hawk Mk-132 aircraft. The team in 2017 was back to its former glory with a nine aircraft team.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
