Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bodo-dominated Kokrajhar town of Assam to participate in the event to celebrate the historic Bodo agreement signed on 27 January 2020, reports Times Now.
PM Modi is scheduled to address the gathering of more than four lakh people from the Bodo autonomous tribal districts and other areas of the state at around 12.30 pm to hail the historic Bodo agreement.
Additionally, a cultural programme of the state's ethnic groups is being organised to welcome the prime minister.
This will be the prime minister's first visit to the Northeast since protests erupted against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act last December.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi tweeted, "Tomorrow, I look forward to being in Assam. I will be in Kokrajhar to address a public meeting. We will mark the successful signing of the Bodo Accord, which brings to an end a problem that had been persisting for decades. It marks the start of a new era of peace and progress."
