Sindhi, Baloch and Pashto activists are set to hold a demonstration in Houston on Sunday (22 September) seeking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump’s help in getting independence from Pakistan, Press Trust of India has reported.

A large contingent of activists from these communities thus landed in Houston from various parts of the US to take part in this demonstration. This is said to be a first of its kind demonstration in the US. The venue is said to be right opposite the NRG stadium in the city, where the Howdy Modi event will be held.

A Sindhi activist was quoted by India Today as saying, “Sindhi people have come here in Houston with a message. When Modi ji passes through here in morning we'll be here with our message that we want freedom. We hope Modi ji and President Trump helps us”.

“We demand freedom from Pakistan. India and the US should help us in the same way as India had helped the people of Bangladesh in 1971”, US representative of the Baloch National Movement Nabi Baksha Baloch was quoted as saying.

The protest groups also highlighted the human rights violations by Pakistan and seeks the help of Prime Minister Modi and Trump in liberating their region like Bangladesh was liberated.
