With talks of a ‘Mahagathbandhan’ including Telugu Desham Party (TDP) and the Congress gaining traction, Andhra Pradesh (AP) Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy said that he will ‘hang’ himself if the alliance becomes a reality.

According to a report by Indian Express, the TDP leader refuted any possibility of allying with the Congress and said that he was ready to take the extreme step if an alliance is indeed forged.

Addressing the media at Kurnool, his hometown, he said, “There is no question of the TDP aligning with the Congress but if that happens, I am ready to hang myself.”

The Congress is widely seen as the reason behind AP-Telangana split and was wiped out in AP elections post the division. However, now after its rift with the BJP, there is talk of an alliance between the TDP the Congress.

AP Chief Minister (CM) Chandrababu Naidu was also present at the swearing in ceremony of Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru last month, where he was seen rubbing shoulders with Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
