Wipro’s Touch To Boeing’s Next-Generation 737 Aircraft: Aerospace Unit Begins Supply Of Parts From Bengaluru Plant

Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN), the hydraulics business division of Wipro Limited has initiated shipments of parts supplies to American aircraft manufacturing giant Boeing for the manufacture of the 737 MAX and Next-Generation 737 aeroplane programmes, reports Mint. The parts have been produced by WIN’s aerospace unit at its Devanahalli plant near Bengaluru.

The two companies developed a partnership in the last several years which expanded the degree of support which was to be provided by Wipro Aerospace to the aircraft manufacturer.

WIN has a manufacturing facility in Israel from where it has provided various kinds of aerostructures and componentry for the 737, 767 and 787 Dreamliner programmes.

“Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) like Boeing source systems and components from India, and our expertise with aerostructures and actuators provide a viable option for OEMs,” WIN CEO Pratik Kumar stated.

Boeing India’s Director of Supply Chain Ashwani Bhargava stated, “Boeing’s partnerships with Indian suppliers play an important part in Boeing’s global strategy. Boeing’s agreement with Wipro Aerospace demonstrates our commitment to developing the aerospace industry in India.”
