With 150 New Covid-19 Patients, Maharashtra Becomes First Indian State To Record Over 1,000 Cases

With 150 new cases the total Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra surpassed the 1,000 mark today (7 April). The state has reported a total of 1,018 cases as per data released by the Maharashtra Health Department, ANI has reported.
As a result, Maharashtra has become the first state in India to single-handedly report more than 1,000 cases.
Mumbai today (7 April) reported 100 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths as per data released by BMC. This takes the total positive cases in the city to 590. It was reported earlier that an FIR had been registered against Tablighi Jamaat members in the city for violating quarantine but only 10 have been traced so far.
The area near Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s residence has been sealed and 170 cops guarding it have been sent on quarantine after a tea seller near the house was found Covid-19 positive.
