India on Tuesday (13 October) recorded lowest number of daily Coronavirus cases in nearly two months with around 55,342 Covid-19 infections being reported in the last 24 hours in the country.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country has crossed the 71 lakh mark with 71,75,880 cases reported till Tuesday, according to the Health Ministry's data.
Meanwhile, 77,760 people recovered from the disease on Monday, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 62,27,295.
The number of active cases has fallen by 23,124 to 8,38,729 in the last 24 hours.
The Covid-19 fatalities in India has increased to around 1,09,856, with 706 deaths being reported in the last 24 hours.
It should be noted that the new cases reported on Tuesday is the lowest daily increase since mid-August.
As many as 10,73,014 Covid-19 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
India has the second-highest tally of Coronavirus infections after the United States, which has so far recorded over 78 lakh cases and 2.15 lakh fatalities.
