Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in the Kisan Sammelan, a meeting for farmers in the state. The Kisan Sammelan is a step taken by the Bharatiya Janata Party to strengthen the confidence of farmers.
The sammelan is taking place amid the ongoing farmers' agitation against the new agricultural reform laws of the Centre. Several meetings have taken place between the leaders of the agitating farmers and the centre during the three weeks of the ongoing agitation in parts of the NCR.
The Kisan Sammelan in Uttar Pradesh will be held in Lucknow, Bareilly, Gautambuddh Nagar and Prayagraj. CM Adityanath will join the Sammelan in Bareilly, reportedly, on Thursday (17 December).
He will talk about the benefits of the new laws to the farmers. Other senior BJP leaders and ministers from the Uttar Pradesh cabinet will will join the sammelan in other cities.
Earlier this month, CM Adityanath had directed officials in the state administration to ensure that farmers do not face problems at sugarcane mills, where they bring the crop, and in markets.

The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
