A day after appearing before the police, actor Mansoor Ali Khan has apologised to actress Trisha Krishnan for his remarks about not getting to do a bedroom scene with her in the movie Leo.
A sentence in his statement stated, "My co-actress Trisha, please forgive me."
Khan had said, "When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it's not new to me. But these guys didn't even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule."
His remarks were condemned by Trisha, who called them vile, sexist and disgusting. She added that she would ensure that they never share screen space during the rest of her film career.
Khan had been summoned by the All Women Police Station in Thousand Lights, Chennai after an FIR was registered against him under Section 354 A (sexual harassment) and Section 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to outrage modesty of woman).
He also withdrew an anticipatory bail plea filed before a court saying that he had erroneously mentioned the Nungambakkam police station instead of the Thousand Lights police station. He was reprimanded for wasting the court's time.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
