Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday (12 May) targeted the Gandhi family while campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rae Bareli.

He specifically mentioned Priyanka Gandhi Vadra seeking votes for Rahul Gandhi and questioned, "After winning, how many times did Sonia Gandhi and her family come to Rae Bareli in the past five years?"

Shah expressed that while Sonia Gandhi is not in good health, Rahul or Priyanka should have come. He highlighted their absence after accidents like NTPC, rail accident in Bachhrawa and others.

"Shehzada (Rahul Gandhi) is asking for votes here, you all have been voting for them all these years but did you get something from the MP's fund? She has spent all the funds but you are saying you didn't get it," he said.

"Where it has gone? It has gone to their 'vote bank' and you people are not her vote bank. Sonia Gandhi has spent more than 70 per cent of funds on minorities," Shah claimed.

He also questioned Rahul Gandhi, "Rahul Baba should answer Rae Bareli's people whether he wants to bring back Triple Talaq? They say that they will bring Muslim personal law, Rahul Baba, please answer this."

"I want to ask him, do you support the surgical strike or not? I want to ask him, why didn't you go to Ram temple for darshan? Finally, Rahul Baba should tell whether he supports the removal of Article 370 or not?" he said.
