BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagendran will kick off a state-wide tour on 17 August from Tirunelveli as part of the party’s groundwork for the 2026 Assembly elections.

The tour will span all 234 Assembly constituencies and is structured around a series of zonal conferences, combining public outreach with internal party assessments.

Unlike his predecessor K Annamalai’s "En Mann, En Makkal" yatra, Nagendran’s campaign will be constituency-specific, with a key focus on strengthening booth committees and mobilising grassroots workers.

“The purpose of this state-wide tour is to understand local issues, motivate our cadre, and streamline our booth-level operations. He will be directly interacting with party workers, especially booth agents, in every Assembly segment," BJP spokesperson ANS Prasad was quoted by DT Next.

Party insiders said the tour would also serve to validate the presence and loyalty of booth-level agents, amid allegations that some appointees were aligned with rival parties.

A senior BJP leader said that Nagendran’s visits to each constituency would play a key role in identifying and addressing organisational gaps. The leader also noted that the tour would help strengthen Nagendran’s leadership image among both party workers and voters.

In the run-up to the tour, a key coordination meeting between BJP and AIADMK leaders was held at Nagendran’s residence in Tirunelveli on Sunday (3 August).

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, along with senior leaders including Natham Viswanathan, Kadambur Raju, Vijayabaskar, and R B Udayakumar, participated in the discussions.

From the BJP, leaders like Tamilisai Soundararajan, L Murugan and Pon Radhakrishnan were present.

Following the strategic talks, Nagendran hosted a grand dinner for the attendees, with sources indicating that the gathering was aimed at fine-tuning seat-sharing dynamics and campaign coordination between the two alliance partners.
