All About Rituals Happening At Ayodhya Ram Mandir Ahead Of Consecration: Idol Of Ramlalla To Tour Temple Premises Today

The week-long religious rituals for the 'Pran Pratistha' ceremony at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, marking the consecration of the idol of Lord Ramlalla, commenced on 16 January and will continue until 21 January.

The culmination of the ceremony is scheduled for 22 January.

Today (17 January), the idol of Lord Ramlalla will tour the premises of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, according to Vedic scholar Acharya Shri Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, as reported by Livemint.

As part of the preparations, Panchgavyaprashan, a ritual involving the use of Panchgavya (milk, urine, dung, ghee, and curd), was conducted on Tuesday (16 January) at the temple after worshiping Lord Vishnu.

As per the schedule rituals for the Ayodhya Ram Temple's consecration ceremony include Ganesh Ambika puja, Varun puja, Matrika puja, Brahmin Varan, and Vastu Puja on 18 January.

On 19 January, the day will see the lighting of the holy fire, 'Navagraha' establishment, and a sacred 'havan.'

On 20 January, the temple's sanctum sanctorum will be purified with Saryu water, and Vaastu Shanti and 'Annadhivas' rituals will be performed.

Culminating on 21 January, the day will involve bathing the Ramlalla idol in 125 urns, leading to its final placement in the sanctum sanctorum.
