Around 24 Per Cent Turnout Till 11 AM, Lowest Voting In Kalyan Where Maharashtra CM's Son Is Contesting

23.66 per cent of voter turnout was reported till 11 am in 49 constituencies going to polls in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections today (20 May).

West Bengal recorded the highest turnout with 32.70 per cent voting, while another big state Maharashtra recorded the lowest with 15.93 per cent as voting is majorly in urban areas.

Overall, Kalyan reported the lowest voter turnout of 11.46 per cent. Here, the Maharashtra Chief Minister's son Shrikant Eknath Shinde is looking to retain his seat.

Odisha, Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir recorded above 21 per cent voter turnout. Lowest turnout in Bihar was reported in Hajipur, where Chirag Paswan is contesting.

Jharkhand, Ladakh and Uttar Pradesh report 26.18 per cent, 27.87 per cent and 2776 per cent turnout respectively. In UP, lowest turnout was in Lucknow where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is contesting.
