A special court for MPs and MLAs in Bengaluru has issued an arrest warrant against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna in a sexual assault case as per a report by NDTV.
The warrant is connected to a case registered against Prajwal on Saturday (18 May), in which his father, Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, is also accused.
Prajwal, the son of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, is currently on bail after spending seven days in jail, following four days in police custody, for allegedly kidnapping a woman.
There are three separate cases of sexual assault filed by three women against Prajwal, the NDA's Hassan Lok Sabha candidate, who is currently at large. The Interpol has issued a blue corner notice against him.
Trouble began for Prajwal when numerous explicit videos allegedly showing him sexually assaulting women became public.
Following these revelations, the Karnataka government, upon the recommendation of Karnataka State Commission for Women chairperson Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate Prajwal's alleged crimes against women.
