At Least Five Killed As Private Helicopter Crashes Near Ganganani In Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi District

A private helicopter en route to Gangotri crashed in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district at around 9 am, resulting in death of at least five people.

Two people were reportedly seriously injured in the tragic accident near Ganganani.

Local villagers and police personnel quickly arrived at the crash site following the incident.

According to initial reports, around seven passengers were on board, and two individuals have been reported injured.

Response units including the police, army, disaster management QRT, a Team 108 ambulance, the Bhatwari BDO, and the local revenue team have been deployed to the site.

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey confirmed the news of a helicopter crash near Ganganani in Uttarkashi district, news agency ANI reported.

"Administration and relief teams are present at the helicopter crash site," the ANI reported.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami offered condolences to the victims’ families and announced that an inquiry into the crash has been ordered.

"I have instructed the administration to provide all possible help to the injured and investigate the accident. I am constantly in touch with the officials in this regard and every situation is being monitored," Dhami added.
