Kareena Kapoor Khan's statement has been recorded by the Bandra Police regarding the stabbing attack on her husband and actor, Saif Ali Khan, at their Bandra home in the wee hours of Thursday (16 January).
She witnessed the assailant repeatedly stabbing Khan and told police, "The attacker was aggressive. I saw him attack Saif repeatedly... Our priority was to take Saif to the hospital."
The actor additionally stated that the assailant fled the scene, leaving without taking any possessions. She stated that Khan had been attempting to safeguard their kids, Taimur and Jehangir, also referred to as Jeh.
When the assailant failed to get to Jeh, he repeatedly assaulted Khan, according to her account. Several hours post-incident, a frightened Kapoor sought refuge at her sister Karisma's residence, while Khan underwent a surgical procedure.
"After the attack, I was terrified, so Karisma took me to her house," she said. Initial investigations reveal that the assailant's intrusion into Khan's home took approximately 30 minutes.
Khan suffered severe wounds when he was attacked with a knife six times by a trespasser at his home in Bandra, Mumbai on a Thursday. The alleged burglar had infiltrated Khan's 11th floor apartment in the Satguru Sharan building when the incident occurred.
Following the assault, a profusely bleeding Khan was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. He had to undergo surgery due to the leakage of spinal fluid, caused by fragments of the attacker's knife becoming embedded in his spine.
Physicians from Lilavati Hospital, where Khan is receiving treatment, have reported that his recovery from surgery is going well. According to sources, he is expected to be released from the hospital in a few days.
Law enforcement sources indicated that the trespasser had climbed the wall of a neighboring property to gain access to the residence. The intruder seemed to know the building's layout, using the back stairs to arrive at the actor's living level and entering the home via the fire escape, they further explained.
The first individual to come across the assailant who attacked Khan was a nurse attending to Jeh Eliyama Philips. She reported that the intruder had demanded Rs 1 crore prior to Khan's intervention.
