In the ongoing seven-day Vedic rituals preceding the consecration of Lord Ram at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, the fourth day saw the initiation of the ‘Yagya’ with the lighting of the holy fire as part of the ‘Aranimantha’ ceremony.
The ‘Yagya’ involves continuous burning of the sacred fire until the culmination of the ‘pran pratistha’ ceremony on 22 January.
This week-long ceremony which commenced on Tuesday (16 January), saw a series of vedic rituals being performed on each day.
The temple is set to open for public 'darshan' from 23 January.
On the fifth day (20 January), the sanctum santorum, housing the idol of Lord Ram will reportedly undergo purification with the holy water of the Saryu.
It will be followed by 'Vaastu shanti' and ‘Annadhivas’ rituals.
'Vaastu shanti' aims to attain harmony with the elements of sky, water, earth, fire, and air.
This practice serves to eliminate any residual defects in the new house, even after the Vaastu puja conducted earlier on 18 January.
