Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi is expected to visit Bihar on 24 April ahead of the state assembly elections scheduled for October-November. On the event of National Panchayati Raj Day, he will be speaking to panchayat representatives in the Madhubani district.

Moreover, the PM will initiate and unveil multiple development projects during the event. The preparedness for the PM's visit was evaluated on Monday by Lalan Singh, the Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and State Industries Minister Nitish Mishra.

This will mark the second time Modi has visited the state since January of this year, according to senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders who spoke to The New Indian Express on Monday (31 March).

They also mentioned that PM Modi plans to make regular trips to the state, which is preparing for assembly elections, in order to uplift the spirits of the party workers. Additionally, he is expected to unveil a number of development projects specifically for Bihar.

On 24 February, PM Modi made a visit to Bhagalpur where he unveiled the 19th instalment of the PM Kishan Samman Nidhi scheme. In addition to this, he addressed a gathering at the airport ground and had interactions with farmers from districts in the vicinity.

According to BJP insiders, multiple Union ministers are preparing to visit the state in anticipation of the upcoming assembly elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a trip to Bihar on 29 and 30 March, during which he conducted a rally in Gopalganj.

Shah conducted a meeting at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence with leading NDA figures, where they discussed various matters, including seat sharing. The NDA associates purportedly provided a list of seats each party was interested in contesting.

Conversely, the opposing INDI Alliance is also preparing for the imminent Bihar elections. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit the state on 7 April to participate in the 'Samvidhan Suraksha Sammelan' in Patna. Ahead of his visit, the state Congress has initiated a campaign to gather support.
