Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal during an election rally in Bihar's Siwan today (24 October), urging voters to reject the ideology of gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin.
Speaking to a large crowd, Shah recounted how Shahabuddin, an A-category history-sheeter with around 75 cases against him, terrorised the region for 20 years, committing triple murders and bathing the sons of a businessman in acid.
The Union Minister targeted RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for fielding Shahabuddin's son, Osama Shahab, from the Raghunathpur assembly seat.
Shah noted that Lalu Prasad himself has given a ticket to Shahabuddin's son from Raghunathpur, a constituency currently held by the RJD.
Defending the current government, Shah declared that under the rule of Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, even if 100 Shahabuddins come, no one can do any harm to people.
“For 20 years, a-category history sheeter Shahabuddin, with around 75 cases against him, two jail terms, triple murders, an attack on an SP... he had bathed the sons of a business owner in acid till their skins came off. The brave people of Siwan never surrendered before Shahabuddin. His son has been given a ticket by Lalu Prasad Yadav himself from Raghunathpur. Now, under the rule of Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, even if a 100 Shahabuddin come, no one can do you any harm,” he said.
He stated that the double-engine government of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish has transformed Bihar over 11 years.
Shah credited Nitish Kumar with freeing Bihar from lawlessness and setting it on a path of progress.
The rally also saw Shah promise that not a single infiltrator would be allowed to remain in Bihar or other parts of the country. He told voters that if they vote for the NDA, the government will remove each and every infiltrator from the country. Shah added that Bihar will celebrate 'real Diwali' on 14th November, when Lalu's son will face humiliating defeat in polls.
Bihar's assembly elections are scheduled for 6th and 11th November 2025, with results to be declared on 14th November.
