BJP Lost 20 Seats By Less Than 5,000 Votes In 2018 But In 2023...

The 2018 elections in Madhya Pradesh were that of very slim margins. Even though the BJP secured more votes than the Congress, they were voted out for fifteen months.

As trends hold now (10:35 AM), the BJP has a strong lead in Madhya Pradesh, exceeding its vote share by 47 per cent. To put things in perspective, the vote difference between the two parties rarely exceeded 2 percentage points in the last two elections.

Of the 20 seats that were either retained or gained by the Congress in 2018, BJP is currently leading on 15. These include Gwalior South, Pichhore, Deori, Rajnagar, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Jabalpur Uttar, Biaora, Mandhata, Nepanagar, Rajpur, Petlawad, Sanwer, Tarana, Ghatiya, and Suwasra.
